Obituary

Roger Lee Flores, a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023, in Anaheim, California. He was born on December 15, 1956, in Santa Ana, California and spent his life creating a legacy of love, laughter, and positivity.

Roger attended Fountain Valley High School and then went on to serve the community of Orange County. He worked diligently as a Lead Worker II and retired after many dedicated years of service. Even in retirement, he continued to contribute to his community, working part-time for Harbor Party Rentals. He was a hard worker, always ready to lend a helping hand, and was known for his friendly demeanor and thoughtful acts of kindness.

Roger was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. His love for the outdoors was infectious. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hiking, often inviting his family and friends along on these adventures. He enjoyed riding his beach cruiser and speed walking.  His unexpected visits, often accompanied by playful pranks like his infamous air horn or squeaky toys, brought joy and laughter to those around him.

A man of many talents, Roger also had a knack for cooking. His family looked forward to his breakfasts, especially his pancakes and French toast. These shared meals were a testament to his love for his family and his ability to bring everyone together. He also enjoyed quiet moments, often spent listening to music, watching old westerns, or playing with his beloved dog.

Roger is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Lucy. Their enduring love story is an inspiration to all who knew them. He was a proud father to his daughters, Violet Flores and Elissa Hoops, and his son, Anthony Flores. He also leaves behind his sister, Lydia Runyan Ortiz. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Augustine Steven Flores. His memory will be cherished by his family, who were his greatest pride and joy.

Roger Lee Flores was a husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend; he was a man who embodied the words loving, thoughtful, and friendly. He left a lasting impact on everyone he met and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and kindness. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

As we remember Roger, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His laughter, his love for life, and his dedication to his family and community will forever be remembered. He has left an indelible imprint on the hearts of his loved ones and the community he served. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the joy and love he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Roger Lee Flores. Your love and laughter will continue to light our way.
