Keegan T-McKay Hymer, aged 30, of Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away on January 1, 2024, in Orange, California. Born on September 18, 1993, to Tana Fletcher and the late Jackie Hymer, Keegan was a vibrant soul whose laughter and adventurous spirit brought light to the lives of everyone he knew.

Keegan grew up in the close-knit community of Cordell, Ok and graduated from Cordell High School in 2012. Keegan moved to New York where he met Nicholette Lauzon and had his son Alexander. His journey of learning continued as he pursued an education in healthcare, a testament to his innate desire to support and nurture those around him. Keegan's professional life was a reflection of his caring nature. His passion for helping others found a deeper calling as he dedicated himself to working with autistic children, driven by the love for his son, Alex, who is autistic. His love for his job wasn’t just a profession; it was a symphony of compassion, understanding and unwavering support that echoed through the lives he touched.

Recently, Keegan embraced a new chapter of his life by relocating to California, seeking to bask in the sunshine and embrace the winds of change. This move was yet another example of his fearless pursuit of joy and growth to better himself.

Keegan's zest for life was mirrored in his diverse interests. He was an avid skateboarder and gamer, finding joy in the thrill of a half-pipe and the camaraderie of online adventures. His love for music was profound. Keegan enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. He loved going to concerts and finding new artists to listen to and share with others. He had a passion for playing guitar and spent much of his time learning to play his favorite songs. Throughout the brief time we were blessed with Keegan’s presence on this Earth, he had acquired many friends from many different paths of life. Many have vouched for him in describing him as having possessed an unparalleled ability to make others feel truly at ease, often being the sole individual capable of embracing their authentic selves and accepting them unconditionally.


The ocean held a special place in Keegan's heart. He recently discovered the serenity of paddleboarding, a hobby that allowed him to explore the vastness of the sea and the tranquility it provided. This fascination was a testament to his adventurous spirit and his constant quest for new experiences.

Keegan's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his beloved family. He is survived by his mother, Tana Fletcher, his two sisters, Kira Ogle and her husband Dakota, Ashton Hymer and her husband Dustin Elizondo, and his maternal grandparents John and Judy Richardson. His legacy will continue through his two sons, Alex and Adler, who will forever be guided by the memory of their father. Keegan also leaves behind his cherished niece, Oakley Elizondo, and his nephews, Kaedan and Knox Ogle, and Ruger Elizondo, who will grow up hearing stories of their uncle's adventures and his boundless love for life.

Keegan was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Hymer, paternal grandparents, Lonnie and June Hymer, and maternal grandmother Linda Lane, with whom he now rests in peace.

Those who knew Keegan would describe him as adventurous, funny, and loving with a contagious smile. His ability to light up a room with his humor and his willingness to embark on new journeys, both literal and metaphorical, will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Although his departure was unexpected, the memories Keegan created with his family, friends, and the many lives he touched will continue to inspire and comfort those he left behind. His spirit, characterized by a profound love for life and an unquenchable curiosity, will remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey.

Keegan T-McKay Hymer's story is one of love, laughter, and the pursuit of happiness. As we say farewell, we celebrate a life lived with passion and a heart that radiated kindness. His was a life that, though cut short, was lived to the fullest, leaving an lasting mark on the hearts of many.
