Kathleen Denise Poremba, affectionately known as Kathy, was born on June 9, 1950, in Illinois, and peacefully passed away in Orange, California, on October 27, 2023. She was a generous, loving, and friendly woman, who touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth.
Kathy was raised and educated in Downey, California, where she cultivated a strong sense of community and developed lifelong friendships. Her early life in Downey shaped her into a woman of resilience and determination, traits that would serve her well in her professional journey.
Later in life, Kathy found her calling in property management. She bravely ventured into the industry opening her own successful business. For three decades, she skillfully navigated the property management sectors, earning respect and admiration from her peers. Kathy's business and her ability to form lasting relationships were the cornerstones of her successful career.
Beyond her professional achievements, Kathy had a deep love for the Christmas season. Her and Steve’s outdoor decorations attracted many visitors to their home each year, eager to experience their festive decorations. Whether it was the twinkling lights, the beautifully adorned tree, or the pot of her famous spaghetti cooking on the stove, Kathy's Christmas parties were a testament to her creativity and love for family and the holiday season.
Equally important to Kathy was her love for the river. She found great joy in going to the river and spending quality time with her family and friends. These moments were cherished by Kathy, as they allowed her to share in the laughter, stories, and love that the gatherings often bring.
Kathy's role as Nonni was one of her most cherished. She doted on her four grandchildren, Skyler Collins, Justin Poremba, Brody Tate, and Ryder Tate, and her great-granddaughter, Ivory Collins. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she relished in their accomplishments and milestones.
A true animal lover, Kathy has owned dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and even a skunk over the years. Kathy was passionate about her work with dog rescues. Her compassion for animals was evident in her dedicated efforts to provide safe and loving homes for those in need. This commitment to animal welfare was just one of the many ways Kathy demonstrated her generous spirit.
Kathy is survived by her long-time partner, Steve Gamble, her son, Jimmy and his wife Angela Poremba, and her daughter, Denise and her husband Mike Tate. They, along with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, will carry Kathy's legacy of love, generosity, and friendliness in their hearts.
Kathleen Denise Poremba was a beacon of love and kindness in a world that often needs it. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of resilience, and the beauty of generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
