Joseph Castaneda, a man of laughter and dedication, passed away on November 15, 2023, in Long Beach, California, leaving behind a legacy of courage and devotion. Born on December 19, 1960, in Orange, California, Joseph’s gypsy soul and infectious humor brought light to the lives of all who knew him.
Joseph grew up in Anaheim, where the foundations of his character were laid as he attended local schools and graduated from Katella High School. His early years were marked by a strong sense of duty and commitment, as demonstrated by his decision to enlist in the US Army. Joseph served his country with honor, embodying the courageous spirit that would define his life.
After his military service, Joseph joined his father in the family business, dedicating over four decades to perfecting his craft taught to him by his father, as an Auto Body Paint Technician. His skilled hands breathed new life into classic show cars, earning him respect and admiration in the auto industry. Joseph's work was a canvas upon which he expressed his artistic flair.
Joseph’s shared a strong bond with his mother, Margaret Castaneda, his brothers, Oscar and Peter Castaneda, and sisters, Monica Amaro and Christine Vasquez. Joseph's life was also marked by the deep love for his son, Dominic Castaneda, who preceded him in death, as did his father, Joseph Castaneda Senior.
Joseph’s free spirit and gypsy personality were woven into the very fabric of his being. Those who knew Joseph will remember him as a humorous man with many “remember when” tales of the adventurous times with his friends and family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his presence.
Joseph will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
