Gordon William Smith, known affectionately as Gordon to his friends and family, passed away on February 1st, 2024, in Orange County, California. Born on October 31st, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, Gordon's zest for life and infectious humor touched everyone he met throughout his 63 years.
Gordon was a man of many talents and was recognized for his incredible work ethic and his ability to fix nearly anything. His hands were rarely still, as he was always involved in a new project or lending his skills to those in need. His generous nature meant he was often the first to offer help, making him an invaluable friend and neighbor.
He was a loving father, brother, and friend. Left to honor Gordon and remember his love are his brother, Shawn; his sisters, Merry and Sandra; and his cherished daughter, Brittney. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jared, and is fondly remembered by Brittney's mother, Lori. Additionally, Gordon's life was enriched by his good friend, Holly, who also shared many adventures throughout the years.
Gordon's joy for life was evident in the way he spent his time. He had an exceptional sense of humor that could light up any room. His laughter was contagious, and he had a knack for storytelling that could keep an audience captivated for hours. Gordon's love for his daughter was unmatched; he relished in the moments spent with Brittney, whether it was spending the evening at home or simply being there to take her to school every day.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Gordon enjoyed staying active and busy. His leisure time often included savoring Mexican cuisine, followed by a cold Corona, which he considered the perfect end to any day. Not to be forgotten is his loyal dog, JD, who was not just a pet but a beloved companion. Together, they shared countless hours of joy and companionship.
Gordon's charm and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a beacon of love, laughter, and generosity in the lives of his family and friends. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told and the laughter shared in his honor.
