Evodio Flores Obituary

Evodio Martinez Flores 87 of Orange, California passed away at his home surrounded by his family on May 27, 2023.  He was born in Tortugas, San Luis Potosi on May 9, 1936 to Benito Martinez and Matena Flores. 

He grew up in San Luis Potosi and met the love of his life Esther Reyes in Villa Juarez on his way to church in December 1960.  The couple were engaged and married soon after by the church on the 5th of February 1961.   Together they have celebrated over 62 years of marriage and had a total of 7 children: Guadalupe, Toño, Oralia, Rosa, Javier, Roberto, and Flor. They have a total of 14 grandchildren; Yasmin, Alejandro, Diana, Christian, Gary, Samantha, Valerie, Joe, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Christopher, Ashley, Vincent, and Leonardo. They have two great grandchildren; Sophie and Luca

Evodio immigrated in 1972 and returned to Mexico in 1975.  Later he and his wife immigrated back in 1986.

Evodio was a field worker and spent his days disciplined in his work. He loved gardening and traveling back to Mexico to tend his home. He followed his wife alongside in their church community and was a passionate in his faith. He fought through many obstacles in his lifetime and raised a lineage of both hardworking and dedicated people that followed in his footsteps to pursue the American dream.

"Evodio Martinez Flores, de Orange, California, falleció en su casa rodeado de su familia el 27 de mayo de 2023 a la edad de 87 años. Nació en Tortugas, San Luis Potosí el 9 de mayo de 1936 de Benito Martinez y Matiana Flores.

Creció en San Luis Potosí y conoció al amor de su vida, Esther Reyes, en Villa Juárez camino a la iglesia en diciembre de 1960. La pareja se     comprometió y se casó poco después por la iglesia el 5 de febrero de 1961. Juntos han celebrado más de 62 años de matrimonio y tuvo un total de 7 hijos: Guadalupe, Toño, Oralia, Rosa, Javier, Roberto y Flor. Tienen un total de 14 nietos; Yasmin, Alejandro, Diana, Christian, Gary,            Samantha, Valerie, Joe, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Christopher, Ashley,      Vincent y Leonardo. Tienen cuatro bisnietos; Sophie, Lucas, Mateo, y   Sebastian.
 
Evodio emigró en 1972 y regresó a México en 1975. Posteriormente, su esposa emigro a Estados Unidos para acompañarlo con sus hijos en 1986.

Evodio era peón de campo y pasaba los días disciplinado en su trabajo y su familia. Le encantaba la jardinería y viajar de regreso a México para cuidar de su casa. Siguió a su esposa en la comunidad de su iglesia y fue un apasionado de su fe. Luchó contra muchos obstáculos en su vida y formó un linaje de personas trabajadoras y dedicadas que siguieron sus pasos para perseguir el sueño americano. 

 

Evodio fue un hombre con notable caracter, que guardo sus principios y morales cerca de el durante su vida. Sera recordado por sus familiares con honor y respeto por siempre."
