It is with deep affection and respect that we celebrate the illustrious life of Consuelo Martinez Guillen, fondly known as Chelo, who transitioned peacefully on October 7, 2023, in Orange, California. Born in the heart of Anaheim, California, her vivacious spirit and infectious energy touched all those who were privileged to know her.

Chelo’s journey began in the Orange area where her industrious nature was cultivated. She worked locally as a produce packer for the Villa Park Orchard for over 50 years, a position that not only honed her resilience but also instilled in her the value of hard work. Her commitment to diligence was not just confined to her professional life; it was a trait that defined her.

Chelo was a woman of many talents, but her most memorable one was her ability to bring joy to those around her through her singing and dancing. Her voice was a melody that filled the room, and her dance was a rhythm that moved hearts. But it was in the kitchen where she found her true calling. Her cooking was a testament to her love and care for her family; every dish was a symphony of flavors, prepared with the utmost precision and passion.

Her love for cleanliness was legendary. Chelo's home was her sanctuary, and she maintained it with an unwavering dedication. It was always spotless, reflecting the order and harmony that she brought into her life and the lives of her loved ones.

Yet, it was not the immaculate floors or the gleaming kitchenware that made her home special; it was the people she shared it with. Chelo loved a full house. She found her greatest joy in the company of her beloved husband of over 35 years, Tomas Guillen, her two precious daughters, Nora Spaulding and Jenny Romero, her four cherished grandchildren, Darleen, Joe, Tommy and Laurinda and her eleven great-grandchildren, Ray, Ranessa, Alyssa, Laurie, Destinee, Frankie, Alexis, Joseph, Joshua, Devin, Delaney;  and let us not forget her great-great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Jonathan, and Jayce.

 
To say that Chelo was loving would be an understatement. Her love was a beacon that guided her family through the storms of life. She was thoughtful, always considering the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness was a virtue that was not only admired but also emulated by her family and friends.

Chelo's life was an anthem of love, a ballad of selflessness, and a symphony of joy. She was a beacon of light that illuminated the lives of all those she encountered. Her legacy is not just the family she leaves behind, but the multitude of lives she touched with her kindness, her generosity, and her love.

She may have left us in body, but her spirit, her values, and her love will continue to guide us. Nacida en el corazón de Anaheim, California, su espíritu vivaz y su energía contagiosa conmovieron a todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

El camino de Chelo comenzó en la zona de Orange donde se cultivó su carácter trabajador. Trabajó localmente como empacadora de productos agrícolas para Villa Park Orchard durante más de 50 años, un puesto que no solo perfeccionó su resiliencia sino que también le inculcó el valor del trabajo duro. Su compromiso con la diligencia no se limitó sólo a su vida profesional; era un rasgo que la definía.

Chelo fue una mujer de muchos talentos, pero el más memorable fue su capacidad de llevar alegría a quienes la rodeaban a través de su canto y baile. Su voz era una melodía que llenaba la sala y su baile era un ritmo que conmovía corazones. Pero fue en la cocina donde encontró su verdadera vocación. Su cocina fue un testimonio de su amor y cuidado por su familia; cada plato era una sinfonía de sabores, preparado con la máxima precisión y pasión.

Encontró su mayor alegría en la compañía de su amado esposo durante más de 35 años, Tomás Guillén, sus dos preciosas hijas, Nora Spaulding y Jenny Romero, sus cuatro queridos nietos, Darleen, Joe, Tommy y Laurinda y sus once bisnietos. Ray, Ranessa, Alyssa, Laurie, Destinee, Frankie, Alexis, Joseph, Joshua, Devin, Delaney; y no olvidemos a sus tataranietos, Ezekiel, Jonathan y Jayce.

 
Decir que Chelo era cariñoso sería quedarse corto. Su amor fue un faro que guió a su familia a través de las tormentas de la vida. Era considerada y siempre consideraba las necesidades de los demás antes que las suyas propias. Su altruismo fue una virtud que no sólo fue admirada sino también emulada por su familia y amigos.
