“ 나의 힘이신 여호와여 내가 주를 사랑하나이다 / I love you, LORD, my strength” 시편/Psalm 18:1
In the spirit of the immortal bard, we mourn the loss and celebrate the life of Chinsoo "David" Kim. We compose this heartfelt missive, a tribute to David born on the seventeenth day of March, 1956, in the beautiful city of Busan, Korea, has sadly departed from our midst. On the sixteenth day of July, 2023, in the peaceful town of Brea, California, he was called upon by the eternal sleep, succumbing to the unyielding grip of a cardiac arrest during his sleep.
David, the esteemed sushi chef, was a man of great culinary prowess. His confident and vibrant spirit was as infectious as his culinary delights were delicious. He held a bold claim, that he could turn even the most stubborn sushi skeptic into an ardent aficionado. He turned naysayers into devotees with an unwavering 100% success rate. He was not just an ordinary chef, but a magician who knew the exact ingredients to recommend, transforming simple meals into unforgettable experiences.
Beyond the clatter of the kitchen, David was a man of profound passions. His love for his dear wife Lena was as deep as the ocean from which he drew his culinary inspirations. His adoration for Lena was rivaled only by his love for the bounty of the sea, as he found joy in every creature that swam beneath the waves, turning them into culinary masterpieces. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and love.
David loved Bryan, Noah and Joy immensely. He leaves behind the memories that will forever etched in their souls. His life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the profound impact of thoughtful gestures. Most of all, he was a man of steadfast faith. He found joy in the simplicity of life, whether it was enjoying a quiet moment in prayer or engaging in a lively conversation with friends and family. David embraced each day with an unwavering spirit at all times and a zest for life. Underneath, he was a thoughtful man, always considering the needs of others before his own.
As we bid adieu to him, we remember the words of the immortal Bard, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances." In this life, we are but players on a stage and David has made his exit with grace Let his life be a reminder to us all, to live each day with love, to cherish each moment, and to always strive to be faithful. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory lives on in the hearts of those he loved and knew him.
David, you will be sorely missed. Fare thee well, dear David, until we meet again. Your story has ended, but your spirit lives on.
