Leonard Ferrara Founder,

CEO, President, Director,

Embalmer

Mr. Ferrara founded Ferrara Colonial

Mortuary in 1973 and has been a

licensed practicing funeral director

and embalmer since 1963.  He

received his embalming and

funeral directing education from

California College of Mortuary Science,

Los Angeles, Ca.  Mr. Ferrara has been

serving families from the same location in Orange

for over 39 years.  He has been very active in the community and has been a member of the Orange Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Elks, Son's of Italy, Orange County Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, and served in 1974-1975 as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Orange Council #4922

Mr. Ferrara's enjoys horseback riding, dancing and fiddle playing.  He mostly enjoys spending time on his Oregon ranch with his lovely wife Carol, and in the company of their children and grandchildren.  Mr. Ferrara currently still manages the mortuary and works as a funeral director and embalmer.  Mr. Ferrara is always available to speak to families and often answers the phone himself in the middle of the night in order to comfort families who have suffered a loss.

 

 

Joseph Ochoa

J.D.Vice-President, General Counsel, Director

Joseph Ochoa joined the staff of

Ferrara Colonial Mortuary in the fall of 2002. 

He is married to Andrea Ferrara the daughter of mortuary CEO Leonard Ferrara and is the proud father of two beautiful children.  Mr. Ochoa received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Constitutional Law from University of California, Los Angeles.  He graduated with University and Departmental Honors, Magna Cum Laude, and was named Chancellors Marshall.  Mr. Ochoa received his Doctor of Law degree from the University of Southern California School of Law, and was named the Legion Lex Scholar.  His area of specialty was Constitutional Law.   Mr. Ochoa formerly worked for the United States Department of Justice, the California Legislative Counsel's Office, and the law firms of Pircher, Nichols & Meeks,  Whitman, Breed, Abbott & Morgan, and Takajian, Sowers & Sitkoff.   Mr. Ochoa has worked in civil, commercial and criminal litigation, family law, and estates and trusts.  In addition to his legal background Mr. Ochoa is a licensed funeral director in the State of California.Mr. Ochoa enjoys meeting with families and counseling them through very difficult times.  He not only arranges services but directs them as well.  His goal is to assist families in any way possible in order to guide them through what can be a very confusing and grief stricken time.  He is always available to meet with families.

 

 

ELAINE YOUNGMAN

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR, GENERAL SECRETARY,

DEATH CERTIFICATE SPECIALIST  

Ms. Youngman has been with Ferrara Colonial Mortuary for over  six years.  Her primary duties consist of general office administration and the processing of death certificates.   Ms. Youngman possesses an expanse of knowledge regarding the particulars of processing death certificates in California.

 

 

 

 

 

GERARDO DE SANTOS

SERVICE DIRECTOR, ON-STAFF CLERGY,

SPIRITUAL COUNSELOR, OFFICIANT

Mr. DeSantos is not only a service director and arranger at Ferrara Colonial Mortuary, he is also one of the most senior Catholic Deacons in the Diocese of Orange.  Mr. DeSantos serves as our on staff clergy and can assist families with grief and spiritual matters as well as conduct religious services (both Catholic and non Catholic).  Mr. DeSantos regularly officiates at funerals, memorial services, rosary services, vigil services, blessings, and graveside services for Ferrara Colonial Mortuary.  He is available to assist you by appointment.
